Imaginar una historia en la historia

Abstract

En este artículo se cuenta el proceso de creación del libro Viaje a San Ramón de Los Palmares, el cual narra una historia imaginada acerca de una familia que migra en 1850 al hoy cantón de San Ramón de Alajuela en Costa Rica. La pretensión original de esta obra fue acercar a los niños a un segmento de la historia ramonense, mediante un relato entretenido con referencias históricas concretas. Se comentan algunos acontecimientos que motivaron la escritura del libro, aspectos generales sobre su gestación, los hechos históricos sobrelos cuales se basa la publicación, la importancia del estudio de la Historia a temprana edad, el acercamiento que se dio entre la Historia y la literatura, y entre la Historia y el arte de la ilustración visual.

This article explains the process that led to the creation of the book Viaje a San Ramón de Los Palmares (Trip to San Ramón of The Palmares), which tells an imagined story about a family that migrates in 1850 to the present-day county of San Ramón, Alajuela in Costa Rica. The original purpose of this work was to allow children an approach to a moment of San Ramón’s history by offering a fun tale based on specific historical references. This article discusses some events that motivated the writing of this book, general aspects of the genesis of this publication, the historical facts behind the story, the importance of studying History at an early age, and the encounter between History and Literature, and History and the visual arts illustration.
