Abstract
This article presents a systematization of a nursing intervention in mental health, conducted through virtual group sessions with older adult women from the Costa Rican Gerontological Association in the first half of 2024. The intervention was grounded in Hildegard Peplau's Interpersonal Relations Theory and structured according to Oscar Jara's methodology of systematizing experiences. The goal was to support self-recognition, emotional expression, and the deconstruction of internalized patriarchal beliefs. Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale was used for assessment. Findings showed significant subjective transformations in the participants, including the strengthening of self-worth, affirmation, and confidence. Beyond measurable changes, the group experience facilitated identity redefinition and a stronger sense of self, highlighting the therapeutic role of nursing in emotional care contexts.
