Abstract

The following article studies the angst for the uncanny in the short story "Insomnio", by Yolanda Oreamuno. Parting form Freud's concept of the Unheimlich, there are several elements that transform the protagonist's insomnia into an angst attack: the night is alive, it pulsates and observes; there is a dissociation of her body, the inanimate lives and even dies; there are voices and hallucinations. In this manner, the horizontal position in the darkness refers to the premature burial, which provokes an angst attack in the protagonist.

El siguiente artículo estudia la angustia ante lo ominoso en el relato "Insomnio", de Yolanda Oreamuno. Partiendo del concepto de lo Unheimlich de Freud, hay distintos elementos que transforman el insomnio de la protagonista en un ataque de angustia: la noche está viva, palpita y observa; hay un extrañamiento del cuerpo; lo inanimado cobra vida y hasta muere; hay voces y alucinaciones. Así, la posición horizontal en la oscuridad remite al entierro prematuro, hecho que provoca un ataque de angustia a la protagonista.
