De novia a güila, de esposa o señora a cabra: cambio léxico-semántico en torno a las relaciones de pareja

Abstract

El nexo que existe entre el cambio lingüístico y el cambio socio-cultural ha sido reconocido por distintas corrientes lingüísticas. En este trabajo se presenta el dinamismo observado en las formas de tratamiento hacia la pareja y los cambios léxico-semánticos más frecuentes. El corpus se registró con hablantes de diferentes grupos de edad, del Área Metropolitana de Costa Rica. Los diferentes estadios de una relación de pareja, aunque se designen con el vocabulario tradicional (amistad, noviazgo, compromiso, matrimonio) tienen significados y comportamientos que cambian entre generaciones, que evidencian los mecanismos utilizados para la resemantización. El léxico es el plano en el que más rápidamente se muestran las transformaciones de la sociedad.y se reflejan las actitudes y prácticas culturales, muchas de las cuales agreden a determinados sectores de la población, como se observa en esta comunicación

The connection that exists between the linguistic change and the sociocultural change has been recognized by different linguistic currents. In this work the dinamic observed is presented in the forms of treatment toward the couple and the most frequent lexical-semantic changes. The corpus was compiled by speakers of various different age groups in the metropolitan area in central Costa Rica. The stages of a couple’s relation ship, although defined by traditional vocabulary (friendship, courtship, engagement, marriage) have meanings and behaviors that change between generations that evidence the mechanisms utilized by the re-designation of terms. The lexicon is the stage in we see the transformations of society which reflect attitudes and social practices, many of which threaten distinct sectors of the population, as observed in this paper
