Parental Burnout Around the Globe: a 42-Country Study

Abstract

This study investigates parental burnout across 42 countries, examining its prevalence and key predictors. Using data from over 17,000 parents, the researchers identified that individualistic cultural contexts, high parental standards, and low emotional support are associated with increased parental burnout. The findings highlight the global nature of the phenomenon and the need for culturally sensitive interventions.
