Abstract
Este artículo presenta los resultados de la investigación antropológica sobre las prácticas y simbolismos del traje de novia en Costa Rica entre los años 2016 y 2023. El propósito es analizar los significados del vestido de novia para la sociedad costarricense; se estudian prácticas de adquisición del ajuar matrimonial femenino y los simbolismos religiosos asociados. Se presenta una breve revisión histórica del origen del uso del ajuar. Mediante metodología cualitativa y etnografía, se analizaron prácticas de adquisición, simbolismos religiosos y roles de género asociados al vestido nupcial.
This article presents the results of anthropological research on the practices and symbolism of the wedding dress in Costa Rica between the years 2016 and 2023. The purpose is to analyze the meanings of the wedding dress for Costa Rican society; acquisition practices of female marriage trousseau and associated religious symbolism are studied. A brief historical review of the origin of the use of the trousseau is presented. Qualitative methodology and ethnographic method were used.
