Resumen
El avance económico y social de los pueblos se puede llevar a cabo solo si les acompaña unacultura de paz. La educación en su doble función -como derecho humano que forma enderechos humanos-, tiene un llamado específico en la construcción de esta cultura de pazentre las generaciones más jóvenes. El argumento central de este trabajo es que la cultura depaz en los centros educativos podrá calar en la vida de las personas cuando la paz sea unavivencia cotidiana dentro de las aulas. El documento presenta una reflexión respecto de losretos para la formación de docentes, quienes deberán prepararse para enseñar a las nuevasgeneraciones a enfrentar el conflicto sin violencia y a desarrollar una forma distinta de mirarlas diferencias entre las personas y las sociedades. Se concluye que los procesos de formación permanente de docentes deberán contemplar el desarrollo de las competencias emocionalesnecesarias para la gestión de las emociones y afectos que se suscitan en toda interacción yque redundarán en el bienestar del estudiantado en las instituciones educativas.

It is concluded that it is essential that educators must have a lifelonglearning processes. This training should contemplate personal knowledge to manage the emo-tions that arise in every interaction, which will result in the well-being of students in the school
