Este es estudio exploratorio cuyo propósito es investigar el impacto en los modelos de negocio de una empresa cuando se adoptan prácticas de economía circular. Para ello se analizan dos casos de estudio de empresas que oficialmente se han declarado estar en transición, hacia una economía circular. Partiendo del análisis de cómo las acciones y estrategias de economía circular implementadas impactan las diferentes secciones del modelo de negocios de las empresas, nuestros hallazgos sugieren que el impacto en los modelos de negocios no es igual para las empresas. Asimismo, que la red de valor tiende a ser lo primero que cambia o es impactado dentro del modelo de negocios, mientras que la propuesta de valor del negocio es más difícil de transformar o de impactar, sobre todo para aquel negocio que desde su inicio no se concibió como uno sostenible ambientalmente, y que trata de adaptarse a un modelo más circular.
This is an exploratory study whose purpose is to investigate the impact on a company's business models when circular economy practices are adopted. For this aim, two case studies of companies that have officially declared themselves to be in transition towards a circular economy are analyzed. Based on the analysis of how the implemented circular economy actions and strategies impact the different sections of the companies' business model, our findings suggest that the impact on business models is not the same for companies. Also, that the value network tends to be the first thing that changes or is impacted within the business model, while the business value proposition is more difficult to transform or impact, especially for that business that from its inception was not conceived as an environmentally sustainable one, and that tries to adapt to a more circular model.
