Abstract
Este trabajo de investigación e interpretación tiene como objetivo ampliar el repertorio contemporáneo costarricense para clarinete bajo, a partir de composiciones del músico costarricense Vinicio Meza Solano. A través de la interpretación de estas obras, se busca resaltar las cualidades tímbricas y estilísticas del clarinete bajo, adaptando obras que originalmente fueron escritas para instrumentos como el trombón, violoncello, contrabajo, tuba y clarinete soprano.
Como parte del desarrollo de esta investigación, se llevó a cabo un proceso de recopilación y edición de seis obras representativas del compositor Vinicio Meza Solano. La selección fue colaborativa entre el propio autor y quien suscribe, atendiendo a criterios de relevancia estética y diversidad estilística. Dicho proceso ha sido acompañado de una investigación de campo, mediante entrevistas y conversaciones con el compositor, lo que contribuyó a conocer su proceso creativo desde un punto de vista técnico y poético; con la finalidad de enriquecer la interpretación musical con la contextualización histórica y estilística de cada una de las obras abordadas en el presente trabajo.
This research and interpretation work aims to expand the Costa Rican repertoire for bass clarinet, based on compositions by the Costa Rican musician Vinicio Meza Solano. Through the interpretation of these works, it seeks to highlight the timbral and stylistic qualities of the bass clarinet, adapting works that were originally written for instruments such as the trombone, cello, double bass, tuba and soprano clarinet. As part of the development of this research, a process of compilation and edition of six representative works by the composer Vinicio Meza Solano was carried out. The selection was collaborative between the author himself and the undersigned, considering criteria of aesthetic relevance and stylistic diversity. This process has been accompanied by field research, through interviews and conversations with the composer, which contributed to knowing his creative process from a technical and poetic point of view; to enrich the musical interpretation with the historical and stylistic contextualization of each of the works addressed in this work.
