Pseudoartrosis Congénita de Tibia: Revisión Bibliográfica

Abstract

La pseudoartrosis congénita de tibia es una patología ortopédica pediátrica, descrita desde hace más de 100 años, la cual desde entonces ha sido un problema para su adecuada resolución debido a la alta tasa de refracturas y múltiples cirugías que los pacientes pueden requerir. A través de los años han existido varios principios para el tratamiento de esta patología, sin embargo, ninguno ha demostrado ser superior a los demás. Inicialmente se trataban con fijación intramedular, fijación circular o injerto óseo vascularizado; no obstante, debido a las altas tasas de complicaciones se iniciaron las combinaciones de estas terapias con el fin de buscar una mejor resolución a esta patología. Todo esto hasta llegar a las técnicas cruzadas que empiezan a implementar y parecen llevar una adecuada evolución, de esta patología que ha sido un dolor de cabeza para los ortopedistas desde hace tantos años.Congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia is a pediatric orthopedic pathology, described for more than one hundred years, which since then has been a problem for its adequate resolution due to the high rate of refractures and multiple surgeries that patients may need. Over the years there have been several principles for the treatment of this pathology, however, none has proven to be superior to the others. Initially they were treated with intramedullary fixation, circular fixation, or vascularized bone graft; however, due to the high rates of complications, combinations of these therapies were started to seek a better resolution to this pathology. All this until reaching the cross techniques that are beginning to be implemented and seem to lead to an adequate evolution, of this pathology that has been a headache for orthopedists for so many years.
