Abstract
Se contrasta el ensayo Pueblo enfermo (1909), del boliviano Alcides Arguedas,
con la serie de quince artículos del mexicano Luis Vargas Piñera, publicados
en Revista Chihuahuense (abril de 1909-mayo de 1911). A través de la obra de
ambos intelectuales latinoamericanos y coetáneos se explican las causas del
racismo como fenómeno social y como ideología que pervive hasta la actualidad.
