Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the technocratic paradigm in order to understand how it hierarchizes knowledge, legitimizes power and establishes a linear order of development. The analysis begins with the concept of technology that refers to the know-how that allows the emergence of civilization. This, in order to understand how technocracy is consolidated as an ideology with a pervasive ethos that imposes a certain vision of the world and has political, economic, social and environmental implications that show the need to overcome technological determinism in pursuit of the common good.
