Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la relación entre la Inteligencia Emocional percibida, la satisfacción con la vida y la felicidad subjetiva de un grupo de estudiantes costarricenses entre 17 y 57 años (M = 24,89, DT = 5,0) que cursan carreras de Educación. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la Escala de Metaconocimiento Emocional (TMMS-24) versión de Fernández-Berrocal et al. (2004), la Escala de Satisfacción con la Vida y la Escala de Felicidad Subjetiva (Lyubomirsky, 1999). Los resultados confirman que se trata de instrumentos confiables para ser utilizados en población costarricense. No se obtuvo evidencia respecto de correlación entre las subescalas de la escala de Inteligencia Emocional con Bienestar Subjetivo, pero sí se obtienen una correlación positiva y significativa entre Satisfacción con la vida y la edad. Se concluye que las personas participantes tienen buen conocimiento de sus estados emocionales, pero con limitaciones para percibirse satisfechas con el avance en la carrera. he current investigation aimed the objective of evaluate if there exist relation between the emotional intelli gence, the life satisfaction and subjective happiness in a sample of university students from Costa Rica between the ages of 17 and 57 years old (M = 24.89, SD = 5.0) that are currently enrolled in careers from Educational Field. The instruments applied were the Trait Meta Mood Scale (TMMS-24) from Fernández-Berrocal et al. (2004), the Sat isfaction with Life Scale and Subjective Happiness Scale (Lyubomirsky, 1999). The results show that the instru ments are trustworthy to be used with the Costa Rican inhabitants. No evidence was shown regarding the corre lation between the subscales of the Scale of Emotional Intelligence with Subjective Well-Being, but there is a pos itive and significant connection among satisfaction with life and age. It concludes that the participants have good knowledge of their emotional states, but with some limitations in satisfaction regarding the approaches in their career. The study provides elements to enrich programs on Emotional Education and Student s Life in the Uni versity.
