La investigación en psicoterapia: Aspectos teóricos y metodológicos

Abstract

A discussion is presented of some theoretical and methodological aspects of psychotherapy research under the perspective of Campbell and Stanley´s theory of internal and external validity (1963), that points out certain incongruencies concerning the logical status of this theory. The author also presents a catalogue by Köhnken, Seidenstücker and Baumann (1979) for systematic appraisal of methodological criteria in psychotherapy research and reviews current literature on group and single case design. The need for research on non-specific factors and process variables is stressed and the trend toward integration of diferent psychotherapeutic "schools" in mentioned.
