Abstract
Los presentes desafíos en la educación respecto a cómo las personas aprenden, han llevado a la necesidad de integrar información de distintas disciplinas. Si bien el conocimiento neurocientífico genera altas expectativas, se debe mantener cautela, dado que hacer una amalgama de conocimientos de manera indiscriminada, abre los portillos para que proliferen ideas erróneas como los llamados “neuromitos”. Este artículo brinda algunos conceptos necesarios para un marco de referencia común entre ambas disciplinas, que podrían vislumbrar que la diversidad en el aprendizaje (como lo es el caso de la alta dotación), puede acontecer desde el funcionamiento neuronal hasta procesos cognitivos.
The current challenges in education about how people learn have led to the need for information from different disciplines. Even though neuroscientific knowledge generates high expections, they should be considered with caution, because an indiscriminate amalgam of knowledge could proliferate with erroneous ideas such as the so-called “neuromyth”. This article provides some necessary concepts for a common framework between both disciplines. It also provides some understanding about learning diversity as in the case of giftedness, and how this diversity could be explained from the neuronal functioning to cognitive processes.
