Abstract
The present article shows the results obtained in a research whose purpose was to identify the degree of knowledge of the computational language from the use of educational robotics in the students of the Bachelor’s in Business Information Technology of the West Campus of the University of Costa Rica during 2018. The above was achieved through the study of some socio-educational characteristics, and characteristics of the computational language obtained through a survey provided to the participants. The study was carried out from a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, transversal design of a descriptive type, based on a sample of 31 students. The research identifies that most participants were 18-year-old men with little or no prior experience in robot programming and the degree of knowledge of computer language between high and sufficient was identified, and more than 70% of positive comments were recorded about the use of educational robotics. It is concluded that the use of educational robotics presents high levels as a means for acquiring knowledge of computer language in university environments.
