Abstract
Perioperative anaemia represents a significant clinical challenge, given its association with increased morbidity, mortality and hospital resource use in patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery. One of the specific objectives of this study was to establish a proposed protocol for the management of perioperative anaemia, adapted to the specific needs of the Hospital Calderón Guardia, based on an exhaustive review of the scientific literature.
