Hacia una tipología de lo fantástico en el relato breve contemporáneo de Centroamérica

Abstract

La presente lectura propone una revisión de las nuevas formas de lo fantástico acaecidas en la región centroamericana en los últimos 20 años. Desde la propuesta teórica de David Roas y Carmen Alemany se vislumbran los desafíos estéticos de una manifestación que, devenida de la tradición europea, pero no exclusiva de ella, da cuenta de la realidad en función de una construcción desarmónica del mundo, asida en las múltiples representaciones simbólicas que rondan el miedo, el asco y la incertidumbre, pero en las que también se presenta una abierta transgresión en el orden moral, sexual, legal, político y religioso que derivan en situaciones en las que opera la perversión, los comportamientos censurables y las represiones. Sin la idea de una nomenclatura rígida y excluyente, se proponen al menos ocho categorías que incluyen posibilidades de lectura para entender el fenómeno en la región, como parte de una ruptura frente a las modelaciones canónicas de la literatura mimética, a saber: lo posmoderno, lo grotesco, lo político, lo femenino, lo fantástico (stricto sensu), lo metatextual, lo amerindio y lo folclórico. Se incluyen para su análisis textos de Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala y Nicaragua a partir de los cuales se evidencia la ebullición de la narrativa fantástica y la urgencia de una nueva dimensión crítica para su estudio.

This reading proposes a review of the new forms of the fantastic that have occurred in the Central American region in the last 20 years. From the theoretical proposal of David Roas and Carmen Alemany, we glimpse the aesthetic challenges of a manifestation that, derived from the European tradition, but not exclusive to it, accounts for reality based on a disharmonious construction of the world, grasped in the multiple symbolic representations that surround fear, disgust and uncertainty, but in which there is also an open transgression in the moral, sexual, legal, political and religious order that results in situations where perversion, reprehensible behavior and repression operate. Without the idea of a rigid and exclusive nomenclature, at least eight categories are proposed that include reading possibilities to understand the phenomenon in the region, as part of a break with the canonical modeling of mimetic literature, namely: the postmodern, the grotesque, the political, the feminine, the fantastic (stricto sensu), the metatextual, the Amerindian and the folkloric. Texts from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua are included for analysis, from which the ebullition of fantastic narrative and the urgency of a new critical dimension for its study are evident.
