The impact of horizontal resolution in a limited area numerical model is investigated. It is found that an increase of horizontal resolution yields larger values for the potential vorticity field and the vertical vorticity fiel. The structure of the zonal and meridional components of the voticity field is altered and these fields present larger extrema.es
