dc.descriptionThis study advocates the analysis of the municipal philharmonic band of Tibas, its background, development, organization and disappearance. The Tibas philharmonic band played a determinant role of the community’s social, cultural and educational evolution which made it get support form the neighbourhood, the municipality, the church, the students, the philharmonic band members, and eventually, the State. The importance of this philharmonic band is remarkable. It enriched popular culture for it represented a musical teaching center and a place of sane entertainment for youth. Besides the socializing opportunity, it contributed to bind fraternity and friendship’s joints among Tibas’ community which, at the same time, coadjuted to the strengthening and consolidation of the local identity.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este estudio se analiza la Filarmonía Municipal de Tibás, sus antecedentes, su surgimiento, organización, desarrollo y desaparición. La Filarmonía de Tibás desempeñó un determinante papel en la evolución social, cultural y educativa de la comunidad, en virtud de ello siempre recibió el apoyo decidido de los vecinos, de la municipalidad, de la Iglesia, de los mismos estudiantes y de los músicos filarmónicos y, ocasionalmente, del Estado. La importancia de la Filarmonía fue mayúscula, enriqueció la cultura pueblerina, representó un centro de enseñanza musical y un lugar de sano entretenimiento para la juventud; además, al ofrecer la oportunidad de sociabilizar, contribuyó a estrechar los nexos de fraternidad y amistad entre la comunidad tibaseña, todo lo cual, a su vez, coadyuvó al fortalecimiento y consolidación de la identidad local.es
