El artículo analiza el papel que el Estado le asigna al Colegio de Profesionales en Sociologíade Costa Rica (cpscr), al ser creado por Ley de la República como una organización privada,con fines públicos, característica que le confiere una responsabilidad en el fortalecimientode la democracia distributiva, lo que implica la protección de los derechos de las y los ciudadanospor parte del Estado, al tener el deber de garantizar la honestidad e idoneidad delos servicios profesionales que se brindan al público en el campo de la Sociología.
This article discussed the role that the State assigns to the Association of Professionals inSociology of Costa Rica (cpscr), which was created by Act of the Republic as a private organization,with public purposes, characteristic that confers a responsibility in distributivedemocracy strengthening, which implies the protection of the rights of citizens by theState, having the duty to guarantee the honesty and suitability of the professional servicesoffered to the public in the field of the sociology.
