Abstract
Proyecto El Gesto (The Gesture Proyect) was born as a questioning about the many possible meanings that a daily gesture can have when it is taken to a state of performance. On many ways, this piece is inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s aesthetic investigations which puts us infront of the problematics into which language leads us, necesarly, to reflect on coreographic-musical writng ant writing as a creative act. Proyecto El Gesto is a piece which is situated in a tense relationship, on one side, Mexico’s dance field, its modes of production and validated aesthetics; on the other side, the fertile musical and sound experimentation that exists in the country. Said relationship has implications in both levels linguistic and corporal.
