Abstract
A research proposal based on the possible impact that the arrival of the typewriter to the country had on the philosophers of Costa Rica in the late 19th and early 20th centuries is presented. To do so, it is proposed a reading of the work published between 1873 and 1923 from the point of view of the discontinuity that the new writing technology should represent.
