| dc.description.abstract | Vanilla Mill. is one of the few truly Pantropical genera in the Orchidaceae. We currently recognize 120 species worldwide, with independent centers of diversity in the Neotropics (with 62 species), China, India and South East Asia (34 species) and Tropical Africa and Madagascar (24 species). In the Americas, the genus is broadly distributed from Florida, through Central America and the Antilles, southwards into Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay . | es |
