El papel de las TIC en la docencia de la Universidad de Costa Rica: abordajes preliminares

Abstract
Este trabajo presenta los resultados del estudio "La alfabetización mediática e informacional en la educación superior de Costa Rica: el caso de la Universidad de Costa Rica" que se ha desarrollado en dos fases, entre 2017 y 2024. El 68% de las personas docentes entrevistadas recibieron formación en el uso de las bases de datos del Sistema de Bibliotecas, Documentación e Información (SIBDI) de la Universidad. Un 63% de las personas consultadas participaron, al menos una vez, en los procesos de formación de la Unidad de Apoyo a la Docencia Mediada con Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (METICS). El servicio web que más utiliza el profesorado es el correo electrónico. Todas las personas entrevistadas coincidieron en la necesidad de recibir más capacitación, que les permita desarrollar mejores estrategias pedagógicas que incorporen el uso de dispositivos tecnológicos y paquetes computacionales.
This paper presents the results of the study "Media and Information Literacy in Costa Rican Higher Education: University of Costa Rica’s Case", which has been developed in two phases, between 2017 and 2024. Data shows that 68% of teachers, who answered the questionnaire, were trained in the use of databases of the Library, Documental and Informational System (SIBDI in Spanish) of the University of Costa Rica. Moreover, 63% of the people consulted participated, at least once, in the instructive process of the Mediated Teaching in Informational and Communication Technologies Unit (METICS in Spanish). The web service most used by teachers is email. All the people interviewed acknowledged the need to receive more training, which allows them to develop better pedagogical strategies that incorporate the use of technological devices and computer packages.
