Abstract
The behavoir of two citrus rootstocks: Trifoliated orange (Poncirus trifolia Raf) and Citrange of Troyer (Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus sinensis) were evaluated, at the Fabio Baudrit it Experimental Station of the Agronomy Department of the University of Costa Rica, Costa Rica. The trial was conducted on a one year old orchard, including cultivars of orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck), tangerine (Citrus reticulata Blanco) and lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swing). The trunk and canopy diameters were the largest with trifoliated orange rootstock (3.58cm and 117cm, respectively). The trunk diameter showed a significant positive correlation at the 1% level with the canopy diameter. Washington and Hamlin induced a larger truck diameter than Parson Brown and jaffa, while Valencia was larger than Pineapple.
