El presente trabajo buscar mostrar la importancia de estudiar la salud sexual y su relación con la prevención de infecciones de transmisión sexual en mujeres, desde la perspectiva sociológica. Lo anterior, a partir del abordaje teórico de las representaciones sociales, como una herramienta analítica que permite conocer las maneras en que expresa la salud sexual de las mujeres, y su vinculación con la prevención, en tanto acciones socialmente significativas.
This research shows the importance of sexual health and its relation with the prevention of sexually transmitted infections in women, from a sociological perspective, based on a theoretical approach of social representations, as an analytical tool which allows to know how sexual health expresses itself on women and where is the connection with the prevention as social meaningful actions.
