Abstract
A numerical wave-generation model for hurricanes was used to forecast the Hurricane's David (1979) waves during their path across the Caribbean Sea. The wave heights produced by the model agree with the estimated data to the south of Saint Croix Island (Virgin Islands) and to the southwest of Puerto Rico. The waves characteristics to the southwest of Puerto Rico that are reported can be used in studies of environmental impact or coastal processes.
