Abstract
The primary treatment for snakebite envenoming remains the administration of animal-derived antivenoms. While highly effective against systemic manifestations, antivenoms present drawbacks, including the need for trained healthcare staff, limited specificity (being restricted to the venoms used in immunization), and the risk of adverse reactions.
