Abstract
Diario Extra es un periódico costarricense de tónica sensacionalista con una gran penetración de audiencia. Su sección de sucesos y, particularmente, las noticias de feminicidios, despliegan estrategias para construir, desde una perspectiva periodística, a las personas involucradas en los crímenes. A partir de un abordaje teórico semiótico y bajo una óptica del Análisis Crítico del Discurso, esta investigación pretende analizar las noticias de feminicidios de la sección Sucesos de Diario Extra y elaborar un modelo actancial, siguiendo los postulados de Greimas, de las personas relacionadas con los crímenes. Para esto, se tomó el año 2011 para realizar una recopilación inicial de 117 notas, de las cuales 16 corresponden a crímenes familiares. Se seleccionaron cinco de estas notas y se procedió a identificar a sus protagonistas y a clasificar sus funciones. Los resultados arrojaron que se presenta la violencia de género como la acción de una persona y no como fenómeno social.

The crime section and, particularly, the femicide news, unfold discoursive strategies that build, from a journalistic point of view, characters of the persons involved in the crimes. Under a semiotic theoretical approach and a Critical Discourse Analyis perspective, this research aims to analyze the femicide news of the crime section of Diario Extra in order to develop an actantial model, following Greimas postulates, of the persons related to the crimes. The year 2011 was selected for an initial compilation of 117 articles, of which 16 corresponded to family crimes. 5 of these articles were chosen to identify the protagonists and classify their functions. The results showed that gender violence is presented as the action of a person and not as a social phenomenon.
