Semántica de los clasificadores numerales en el bribri de Coroma

Abstract

Este artículo aborda la semántica de los clasificadores numerales que forman parte del sistema de clasificación nominal en el bribri de Coroma. En primer lugar, describe, de manera detallada, los usos de cada clasificador y los significados que aportan al sintagma nominal. Al mismo tiempo, procura explicar las categorizaciones menos transparentes por medio de diferentes modelos cognitivos. En segundo lugar, examina las bases y las funciones semánticas de los clasificadores con el fin de sistematizar las propiedades que codifican.This article addresses the semantics of the numeral classifiers that form part of the nominal classification system in Coroma Bribri. First, it provides a detailed description of the uses of every classifier and the meanings they provide to the nominal phrase. At the same time, it aims to explain the less transparent categorizations by applying different cognitive models. Second, it examines the semantic basis and functions of the classifiers in order to systematize the properties they codify.
