Como parte de un proyecto de investigación mayor, en este texto se presentan y discuten los resultados de entrevistas realizadas con once personas quienes ostentaron cargos de representación política y han estado involucradas en legislación relativa a la inmigración en el país. Se discuten diversas dimensiones de la problemática y se establecen algunas comparaciones para intentar puntualizar discusiones claves en un ámbito que ha sido muy problemático, para definirse frente al otro inmigrante.
As part of a wider research project, this paper presents and discusses the results of interviews carried out with eleven political figures that were involved with the legislation concerning inmigrants in Costa Rica. Diverse dimensions of the issue are discussed, establishing comparisons and seeking to outline key aspects in a domain that has been problematic, attempting to define the country and its laws regarding the inmigrant other
