This picture was taken in a community park in Costa Rica. The fear of crime has caused people to take measures which they believe could protect them against delinquency; as a consequence, many public spaces are being fenced and strictly controlled. This decision has limited free access during certain hours of the day and makes difficult the spontaneous use of open spaces. This image tries to show the paradox: Does the city feel safer when its public spaces are enclosed?. Judge yourself.es
