Abstract
En este trabajo se discute sobre la ciudad fragmentada, la ciudad que se habita hoy día, pues el término remite
a las ciudades de fines del siglo XX e inicios del XXI. Se discute la forma en que el Gran Área Metropolitana de
Costa Rica se ha desarrollado hasta inicios del siglo XXI, lo cual promueve la desigualdad y la formación de gated
communities.
