Se analizan las inequidades socioespaciales en el acceso a medicamentos en Costa Rica a partir de una encuesta dirigida a farmacias comunitarias y entrevistas con informantes claves del contexto sociosanitario. La encuesta a farmacia se basó en un muestreo aleatorio estratificado según el índice de desarrollo social y se enfocó hacia las preguntas sobre el precio de diez medicamentos de acuerdo con el perfil epidemiológico. Las entrevistas a informantes claves responden a un muestreo cualitativo dirigido a los principales actores del mercado de medicamentos en el país y exploraron las percepciones sobre el acceso a medicamentos. Se encontraron variaciones espaciales en el acceso físico a las farmacias comunitarias y en el precio de los medicamentos, evidencias de inequidades en el acceso a la atención sanitaria. La concepción sobre la salud, las condiciones del mercado de medicamentos y los vacíos de regulación en esta materia, se identifican como barreras que obstaculizan la puesta en práctica del principio de solidaridad que distingue a las políticas de salud en el país.
The socio-spatial inequities in the access to drugs in Costa Rica were analyzed using a survey directed to community pharmacies and interviews with actors of the sanitary context. The survey to pharmacy was based on aleatory stratified random according to the social index of development and was focused toward the questions upon the price of ten drugs in agreement with the profile stratified. The interviews to key informer respond to a qualitative random directed to the main actors of the market of drugs in the country and this went explored the perceptions upon the access to the drugs. Spatial variations in the physical access to the community pharmacies and the drugs' price are evidences of inequities in the access to the sanitary attention. The conception of the health, the market's conditions of the drugs and the lack of regulation in this matter, are identified like barriers to implementation of the principle of solidarity that distinguishes to health policies in the country.
