Se dejó por sentada la existencia de Juan Santamaría y se exaltó la actitud visionaria de Juan Rafael Mora Porras en la conducción del enfrentamiento contra los filibusteros, consolidando un discurso conservador y patriarcal de la historia nacional.es-ES
