Se describe e ilustra la nueva especie Stanhopea naurayi Jenny, de Perú. No es pariente cercana de ninguna otra especie conocida en Perú; más bien se parece a algunas formas de S. oculata (Lodd.) Lindl., de México, pero con flores un tercio menores.
A new species of Stanhopea (S. naurayi Jenny), recently collected in Peru, is described and illustrated. Not closely allied with any other known species from Peru, it is relatively similar to some forms of the Mexican S. oculata (Lodd.) Lindl. but with flowers one third smaller.
