dc.description	This research studies the development of the agricultural industry in Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica during the second half of the 20th century; problematic that is analyzed from the theoretical principles of agricultural technical change. The principal sources of this research are agricultural and livestock censuses of the years 1955, 1963, 1973 and 1984, found in the archives of the Department of Statistics and Censuses, the reports of the Executive Secretariat of Agricultural Sector Planning, and Natural Resources Renewable (its Spanish initials: SEPSA) for the period 1985 - 1987, and reports from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (its Spanish Initials: MAG).	en-US
dc.description	Esta investigación estudia el desarrollo de la industria agrícola en la Región Pacífico Central de Costa Rica durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX, problemática que es analizada a partir de los principios teóricos del cambio técnico agrario. Las fuentes principales de esta investigación son los censos agrícolas y agropecuarios de los años 1955, 1963, 1973 y 1984, presentes en los archivos de la Dirección General de Estadística y Censos, los informes de la Secretaría Ejecutiva de Planificación Sectorial Agropecuaria y de Recursos Naturales Renovables (SEPSA) del periodo 1985 - 1987, y los informes del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG).	es-ES
