This article aims to approach the phenomenon of polarization of labor income, taking into account thetype of contract and employment stability, in order to represent the working conditions that young peoplebetween 16 and 25 years face in Colombia. First we present a review of reports about current workingconditions, followed by an explanation of the concept of polarization; then we perform cluster analysis,which concludes that young people in the age range 16-25, are on average less paid per hour worked, andtheir situation is even more precarious if they do not have a written contract or if they have less than twelvemonths working in the same place. Este artículo pretende un acercamiento al fenómeno de polarización del ingreso laboral, considerando el tipo de contrato y la estabilidad laboral, para representar las condiciones de trabajo a las que se enfrentan los jóvenes entre los 16 y 25 años en Colombia. Para conseguir este objetivo, se presenta una revisión de informes sobre condiciones laborales actuales, se expone el concepto de polarización, y se prosigue a realizar un análisis clúster, donde se concluye que los jóvenes en el rango de edad 16-25 reciben en promedio una paga inferior por hora trabajada, y su situación es aún más grave si no poseen un contrato escrito o llevan menos de doce meses laborando en el mismo sitio.
