Abstract
En un vivero ubicado en el distrito San José, Alajuela, se evaluó el efecto de varios herbicidas sobre guanábana sembrada en bolsas de polietileno y sobre el combate de las malezas. Se realizaron dos experimentos, en uno se aplicaron nueve herbicidas en prebrotación a la maleza y dos testigos, uno a libre crecimiento de malezas y otro deshierbado semanalmente. El otro experimento incluyó tres herbicidas sistémicos aplicados en posbrotación a la maleza y guanábana, más un testigo a libre crecimiento. Se encontró que todos los herbicidas aplicados en prebrotación a la guanábana y malezas combatieron bien malezas de hoja ancha y gramíneas, pero causaron diferentes grados de toxicidad a la guanábana; los arbolitos lograron recuperarse paulatinamente, aunque con mayor rapidez en los tratamientos con oxadiazón. El oxyfluorfen granulado (G) aplicado en posbrotación a la guanábana y prebrotación a la maleza, mostró buen combate de malezas y fue selectivo a la guanábana. De los herbicidas aplicados en posemergencia, el fenoxapop y haloxipop combatieron solo gramíneas; bentazón combatió solo malezas de hoja ancha, pero los tres fueron selectivos a la guanábana.
The effect of several herbicides was evaluated on the growth of soursop seedlings planted in polyethylene nursery bag. The trial was conducted from February to June of 1988. Two assays were conducted: in the first one, nine herbicides were applied in pre-emergence to the weeds and with two controls, one unweeded and the other one weeded weekly. The second trial included three systemic herbicides, applied in postemergence to the weeds and the soursop, plus an unweeded control. The results show that all the herbicides applied in pre-emergence produced a good control of broad-leaf and gramineous weeds, although causing different degrees of toxicity to the soursop. The seedlings recovered gradualy, yet somewhat sooner in the treatments with oxadiazon. The granulated oxyfluorfen, applied in post-emergence showed a good weed control and was selective to the soursop.
