dc.description	This is the first report of the bivalve Trigoniidae [Pterotrigonia (Pterotrigonia) sp.], from anUpper Cretaceous locality of Costa Rica. This fossil association was buried in situ with other mollusks:Pholadomya jamaicensis and gastropods. They are included in a calcareous sandstone, deposited in a sublittoral-littoral (10-15 m deep) environment. The presence of this fossils is an evidence of the influence of the Thetyssea in this area during the Mesozoic (Upper Cretaceous).	en-US
dc.description	En este trabajo se informa del primer hallazgo de bivalvos de la Familia Trigoniidae [Pterotrigonia(Pterotrigonia) sp.] en Costa Rica, en un afloramiento de edad Cretácico Superior. Esta localidad representa unsepultamiento autóctono conformado por una tafocenosis de moluscos, en areniscas carbonatadas, depositadasen un ambiente marino sublitorallitoral (10-15 m). La presencia de éste género cosmopolita permite correlacionar éste afloramiento con otras localidades que conformaron el antiguo mar de Tethys durante el Mesozoico.	es-ES
