dc.descriptionThe study analyzed the factors that contributed to the development of touristic industrial districts in La Fortuna and Monteverde for the period 1980-2010.The theory of industrial districts is based in a phenomenon of agglomeration of small and medium sized enterprises, in a given region and around an economic activity; where the region is characterized by hosting a community and not just a workplace. Five factors proposed by the literature were evaluated: employment concentration, business agglomeration, institutional factor, cooperation factor and community; adapted to the existing methodologies in light of the available data. The research verified the presence of the five factors and determined the existence of a touristic industrial district in La Fortuna and Monteverde, but it was not possible to identified the individual contribution of each factor to their formation.en-US
dc.descriptionEste estudio analiza los factores que contribuyeron al desarrollo de los distritos industriales turísticos en La Fortuna y Monteverde en el periodo 1980-2010. El análisis parte de la teoría de distritos industriales, que se sustenta en un fenómeno de aglomeración de pequeñas y/o medianas empresas, en una determinada región y en torno a una actividad económica; donde la región se caracteriza por albergar una comunidad y no ser solo un centro de trabajo. Se evaluaron cinco factores propuestos por la literatura: concentración del empleo, aglomeración empresarial, factor institucional, factor cooperación y factor comunidad, mediante la adaptación y aproximación de las metodologías existentes. Se verificó la presencia de los cinco factores y se determinó la existencia de un distrito industrial turístico en La Fortuna y Monteverde, sin embargo, no se logró identificar individualmente cuáles de ellos favorecieron o desfavorecieron su formación ni en qué medida.   es-ES
