Thinking of the history of thought

Abstract

The article discusses the relevance of studyingthe history of philosophy in higher education, as anencouragement for the teaching of philosophy. The premise is that all philosophical exercise takes place in ahistorical and cultural context, and carries the determinations of that context, so the research must considerthe space and conditions in which the philosophicalknowledge is produced and particular theories and concepts are coined. In considering the historical context ofproduction of philosophy we find elements that allow usto find analogies between the societies that producedthese philosophical and theoretical frames and our ownCentral American societies, which may face, as those,similar conditions.

Se aborda la pertinencia de estudiar la historiade la filosofía en la enseñanza superior, como mediopara inducir la enseñanza de la propia filosofía. La premisa es que la todo ejercicio filosófico tiene lugar en uncontexto histórico y cultural, y pesan sobre aquel lasdeterminaciones de ese contexto, de manera que lainvestigación debe considerar el espacio y las condiciones en que se ha procurado producir conocimiento filosófico y se han acuñado particulares teorías y conceptos.En la consideración del contexto histórico de producciónde la filosofía hallaremos elementos que nos permitiránhallar analogías entre las sociedades que produjeronesos marcos teórico filosóficos y nuestras propias sociedades centroamericanas, que pueden afrontar, comoaquellas, condiciones semejantes.Palabras clave:
